When I heard Mattel was coming out with a new line of African American Barbie Dolls I was all, “them bitches better not just paint skinny ass white barbie black like the did back in the day!”
What It Do...Looks Good To Me
However I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that the Black Barbie line has their own separate molds are built realistically…well as realistic as Barbie gets anyway. Alot of critics been saying that the new line ain’t “black enough.”
They be saying that the hair is too straight and the figure ain’t realistic enough.
OK yeah not all girls be that skinny, especially black girls who got the booty thang in your face going on. However there be white bitches that are over weight as well as black bitches. If they made Barbie typical no one would buy it.
The issue of hair being to straight I think is a personal choice. Ask 100 Black women what looks better, nappy headed curls or long flowing straight hair. 90/100 will tell you its the straight hair.
